Caught in the Act
I was chillaxin' with the kids late this afternoon out in the yard, just sitting there thinking about daily adventures, when I saw two boys pushing their bicycles up past the driveway.
Boys with bicycles? Where did they come from? What were they doing heading up the mountain?
The dogs spotted them and in a flash, they ran towards the creek that borders the road. About two acres of our yard is fenced thanks to my Joe. He put a really nice stockade fence on the front side of the house with gates...it's great! Then he used what we call "farm fencing" through the woods. It's hard to see.
Anyway, as the dogs ran barking, the boys' heads turned and the older one bent down picked up some gravel in his hand and was about to throw it at Copper. I yelled out, "don't you dare" and he tossed the stones aside.
Was I wrong?
Although he couldn't figure out where I was, I had a clear view of him. Dropping his hand to his side and letting the small rocks fall, he mumbled something to his younger brother.
