Thanks to Irene...Northeast Connecticut

I just wanted to let you all know that our son and his family who just closed on their house last week had no damage form the rain or winds.  He never lost power either.  My youngest step daughter and her family lost power on Sunday but it was restored Sunday night around midnight.  My oldest step daughter and her family, along with my daughter and Angel, have been without power since Sunday.

My MIL and other in laws are doing well.

The new house?  It survived unscathed..."not a drop" according to our builder!

I am so glad your family and their homes are alright. I know how worried you must have been watching the news from far away.
I was having a new home built when a hurricane came through as well. The first thing I did when I could get out was run over there wade through the mud and check everything. No water in the house and no leaks. I knew then it was built right.

oh good! sorry about the power outages, though!
Hi JP, glad to read that yur family in CT are safe with no damages, but too bad about the power outages. We survived with only downed branches, etc. here on the VA eastern shore. Grenville's relatives in New London, CT had a tree limb fall across their roof and had to leave home.

Thank goodness it's over and the worst that happened to you and yours was a little power outage. And thank goodness your new home escaped with no damages.
