A Twisted Tale (Part 1)
Remember the story I wrote earlier this week about the "Desktop"? Let's continue where we left off. The collage was created while I was home recouperating from that herniated disc. However, writing about the "Desktop" reminded me to tell you about another Chapter in my life. Here goes:

Once "the doctor" (and I use the term loosely) determined that I had a herniated disc, now it was time for treatment. Having never been to an orthopedic doctor before, I was ignorant when it came to treatment. I was given a prescription for muscle relaxers, a prescription for a pain killer and a prescription for a sleeping pill. I was also told that because I was not over weight, surgery would not be necessary.
And so it was, when the Prez was not pulling his three days on at the Firehouse, he'd make me breakfast, lunch and dinner. When we did have to work, he would leave leftovers which were easy enough for me to throw on a plate and heat up in the microwave. Let me further say drugs and I do not get along. It doesn't take much to make me "spacey." (Some say I'm spacey enough! LOL!!) What I mean though is that medication makes me woozy...it's like like drunk. I get dizzy, light headed, feel nauseous and simply want to pass out. Needless to say, while taking this medication I was like a walking zombie.
In addition to the prescribed meds, I would go to the doctor's office weekly and after she examined me, she'd help me up on the table, roll on my stomach and then inject several needles into the affected area. Then she would tell me to dress and send me on my way.
to be continued...
