U is for...
Unusually frail looking, the cluster of flowers seemed to wave as I passed. Beckoning to me to remove the surrounding leaf litter that blocked the suns rays from hitting their slender stems, their tiny blossoms gently swayed to and fro in the early morning breeze. Although I do not yet know what they are, they grow in the woods surrounding the yard that isn't.
The flowers, a mere half inch in diameter with four pale blue petals and a light yellow center sit atop a single very thin leafless stem. Another native plant to this woodsy soil that I hope to identify. Nature is so diverse, isn't she? (especially since she showed them to me on Earth Day!)
