Life On The Outside
Wandering around the Big E, we stopped in many of the buildings along the Avenue of States and the Better Living Center as always to see the exhibits from numerous vendors that we always enjoy. The Pres suggested that we all stop to see the honey bee exhibit by the Hampden County (Mass) Bee Keepers Association. While one gentleman explained that the queen was marked with a white dot on her head and was "somewhere in there", pointing to a glass display of the honey bees and their honeycomb, the other gentleman answered questions.
My first question was, "I see the bees are going up and down that tube connected to the wall. What are they doing?"
"Normally, we have it vented to the outside so the bees can come and go as they please. But, it seems that the bees were bugging the vendors selling honey glazed donuts this morning so we had to block the hole temporarily."
Hmmm? So I'm not the only one who likes warm honey glazed donuts????

Fast forward through the rest of the building and it's displays.
Now standing outside the building deciding on our next exhibit, we noticed loose bees trying to get back home to their queen!
The hole was blocked just as the beekeepers said so all they could do was swarm around the entrance.

At my age, I've learned that
although the honey is not always sweeter on the other side,
life on the outside is worth living...:)
