A Perfect Perch
for an eagle, that is...
The adult Bald Eagles rely heavily on this dead pine located near their nest. This is not uncommon for them. It has been documented that tall, dead trees make great perches because the view is clear and they can see for miles. There are over 5000 perching birds known as passerines.
Suggesting to the Pres that we need a nice perch for an American Bald Eagle in our yard...just in case it decided to stop by, I picked this tree...the large crooked one broken off at the top. Standing about 100' tall, it would be perfect perch for an eagle when it comes to visit.
Originally we were going to take the tree down. However, it is not dead revealing many smaller branches over the past few years and some day I hope to see an eagle perched on it.

I think it's worth saving, don't you?

What a beautiful photo you took there of the bald headed eagle.. you are so very lucky to have him fly in and sit on a tree in your back garden.. A great idea to build a nesting place or perch.. Wouldnt that be great , if he came back always.
Wishing you a good week .. val xxx
