Not There Yet
I've been intentionally holding off with an update on the Pres until he saw both the surgeon for the last time and his Cardiologist this week.
No, he is not there yet.
However, he is close. We are close.
Right now his heart rate is high all the time. Yes, he is restricted a little as far as over exerting himself since he becomes winded and exertion would, as I told him, cause his heart rate to go way too high, which we don't want. The first step was to change some of his medications.
The next step will be that another TEE (transesophageal echocardiogram) is done followed by another Electric Cardioversion. They will be done next week in an effort to obtain a regular heart rate.
However, both doctors said his incisions healed well and that he is well on his way to good health! What he is going through is not uncommon after open heart surgery. In fact, 30%-50% of patients experience it.
Although not there yet, I am now beginning to feel a huge sense of relief and less guilty about the prospect of leaving him home alone.

may he have a speedy recovery
About your last post. I am so tired of the lack of customer service we have in this country and I see it getting worse. No one seems to care anymore, they tell you what you want to hear just to get you off of the phone, and no one wants to do their job. There is no sense of ownership, people get paid no matter if they do a good job or a bad job. It's sad and scary.
