A Typical Morning
The small herd of deer...the herd we now call "The Regular Crowd"... comes in twice a day.
We are sure it's because of the salt lick the Pres put down thanks to the suggestion of many readers.
Meanwhile while they're at the back corner shuffling through the leaf litter, low lying brush and nibbling on the lower Hemlock branches, the Doves take their place on the branches over the feeders. They, too, have become "regulars."
Then, while focusing on the Doves, something in the distance caught my eye ,circling high above the treeline.
Stepping out onto the soggy boot mat, I heard two high pitched chirps from the Eagles followed by the occasional gobbling of the wild turkeys.
All sounds of comfort. And now, it was time to take the dogs out.
