Lexi Left Lingering Layers
She began early. In fact, when I got up at 5:05 am, there was just a dusting on the deck. But it was coming down fast and hard and accumulated quickly, sticking to everything. The Pres had told me to wake him once there was 4 inches of that heavy, wet, white stuff on the ground. That was at 8:00 am. (He still insists on plowing the gravel road and our two neighbors' driveways for $20.00, although this year, he did increase his fee to $25.00.)
And so, off he went, wearing his one piece, camo printed, dry plus suit. However, the visibility was so bad, I could hardly keep an eye on him. Can YOU see him in the top left of this first photo? Sticking my head out the front door to listen for the ATV to get a general idea of what direction to look helped tremendously. Just because his heart is strong this year doesn't mean I don't worry!
Other than seeing the birds...of all shapes and sizes...trying to fit into our little globe feeder regardless of the visibility, we just watched it snow, and snow. Finally, it stopped around 5 pm. We'd received 12 inches of heavy, wet, white stuff. (can you see that it even clung to my fence making it appear as if we have boards when that section is just wire?)
While Winter Storm Lexi left lingering layers of snow, ice and branches along our road, she gave us only her beauty.

I love the wonders of a fresh snow.
This winter had no snow in the Netherlands.
