Seeing Spring

One afternoon last week, the sun was out full blast for several hours.  Then, without any warning, it became very dark in the house.  When I walked over to the slider to look at the sky, I noticed that huge, deep gray colored clouds had surrounded us.

And then after looking at the dark clouds, I noticed this pink hue across the trees.  Unable to make out if what I was seeing was really what I was seeing, I grabbed zoomerooni (the new Nikon P900) and took a peek.

The pink hue I was seeing WAS BUDS ON THE TREES!!!  Good gravy, it's only the end of January!!

But here they are folks...

I'm not surprised with the crazy weather we've been having. I swear buds are swelling here too. The grass has greened up for sure. No matter how much I like this mild winter, its way too early. We're supposed to be in the mid 60's today and we've got sunshine. Sheesh, its the end of January!

The crazy weather has mother nature confused. A year or so ago my forsythis got buds real early in the year and then it got colf. That year it never did bloom
