The Dish Towel
Knowing I am not alone when I say that I have some dish towels that are old....really old, I am almost embarrassed to say that the one in this story was probably purchased 10 years ago, if not more.
Unlike most of the dish towels made today, the two heavy, absorbent, navy patterned towels went well with my kitchen decor way back then and have lasted all these years so you know they were well made.
Well, one vanished months ago and I had no idea where it went. Although I looked behind the dryer (in case t was pushed off during folding other towels), looked in the linen closets downstairs and upstairs (in case it was mistakenly placed in the wrong pile when laundry was being out away), I could not find it. Time passed and, to tell you the truth, I forgot about it.
Meanwhile, the Pres and I went to give my daughter and her honey a hand recently with trimming trees. After we were done, walking into her kitchen as she was preparing us lunch, guess what I saw?
Yes, indeed. Draped over the edge of the counter, it looked as if it was right where it belonged...home.
So that's where I left it.
After taking a pic, it became the topic of conversation during lunch.
