Make Life Fun

Saturday was a volunteer activity for me.  Following the GPS's instructions, I listened attentively and looked on both sides of the road as I heard, "arrived."

Really, I thought.  I don't see anything resembling a local fair around anywhere.  I did the next best thing.

Pulling my car off the road and flagging down a pickup truck pulling out of a gravel road, I ran over to the man to ask if he knew where Positively Pomfret was being held.  "Just pull in here and follow the road," he said with a wide grin.

Local vendors peddling their beautiful Mums, attractions for the young and old alike, games for the kids and just good old-fashioned fun like towns had "back in the day."

Yet for me, the fun began right when I arrived.  When I parked my car in the well manicured field, I could hep but notice a woman helping her son put on his costume.  I JUST had to say something as I got out of my car.  I mean how could I ignore this?

There it was standing in front of me...the largest Bald Eagle I'd ever seen.

His real name is Graham and he is the school mascot.  He was such a polite young man as he wandered around the grounds...cheering everyone up.

But I'm not done.  When I walked over to my "Boss" and told him that being the "magnet" that I am, I'd just met Graham, he said, "Stay here JP, I'll be right back."

But of course that's what happened. It wouldn't have been right for you to miss out on having your picture taken with the largest bald eagle ever sighted.
That does sound like a fun event
Must be a new species of bald eagle...furry feet and oversized lol.

Oh, look at all those Mums. I just did a post about Mums. The bald eagle mascot is delightful. I love to go to craft fairs like this where all the vendors show their wonderful stuff.

What a wonderful outing, I love going to local fairs. Nice new feathery friend you made there ;) The autumnal colours of the mums are so beautiful. Coming over from nature notes and wishing you a happy day!
