Convincing me that I should attend this "open to the public" free class conducted by her kickboxing instructor and a resident State Troop, a BFF knew that I was not overly enthusiastic.  Reluctantly, I agreed.

Introducing me to "BOB" (body opponent bag), she saw that at first I was... like many women...reluctant.  However, that changed after participating in the class and learning the importance of:

environment

stance/posture
grabs

punches

pokes/jabs

the ground

Unfortunately our world is not what it used to be.  Taking a self defense class might just save your life.
