Spotting these two handsome critters behind well kept, white fencing, I wondered just what went through their minds as each grazed on the dried grasses in their paddocks. As you can see, the sun was hitting their rumps so there was no need for blankets.
I couldn't help but focus on the palomino. It reminded me of mine when I was in college. His name was Sandy and that gelding and I made a great team. I could anything with that horse and he would do anything for me.
It was called trust.
It didn't take long to notice that the palomino was more alert, listening and sniffing attentively as something in the woods caught it's eye.
Before I knew it, I was standing by the roadside reliving the feeling of freedom as it's nostrils flared inhaling deeply to grab my scent before I walked closer to the fence.
Back in the day, my horse Sandy never balked at anything except the Morgan stud that lived down the road. Together, we road trails, crossed creeks, walked in green pastures and basked in the sun, enjoying each other. We were a team...a good team.
Nickering softly to me whenever I approached with the bridle, he stood motionless as I threw the blanket on him patiently waiting for the saddle. Good memories continued as I stood in the sun near the fence.
Then after taunting me with it's beauty and keen senses, it tossed it's head into the air and trotted boldly around the paddock as if saying, "Come on, lets go for a ride" just like my Sandy used to.
just seeing, saying, and sharing...
