The Spy

Getting dressed the other morning, I felt like I was being watched.
Peeking out of the delicate, old lace curtains, I immediately saw this guy.

I'm sure he wasn't eyeing me but rather the feeders not far from where he was sitting.

They are neat visitors. I just feel sorry for the little birds and their prey.

I put my birdfeeders inside bushes that are taller than the feeder poles. That way it's much harder for the hawks to get them. But I feel sorry for the hawks all the same, as most Coopers Hawks die of starvation before their first birthday. Here in our woods, the hawks live to be ripe old ages. :-) Lovingly, Andrea xoxo
