Who's Squished Now?

Four days into the feral kitten's introduction to "our world," Katniss now let me pick her up without panicking.  Feeling like I was making progress with the feline born outside, it was on day four that I let her have the complete run of the house.  The Pres was not home so it was just the two of us.  When she wanted to snuggle, she climbed up onto my lap, and sprawled out like she didn't have a care in the world.

After texting back and forth with a friend who has four cats, that night I decided that I was going to leave my bedroom door open in case she decided to climb in bed with me, although I had warned the Pres and suggested that he shut his.

Four hours into my sound sleep, I had to get up to pee.  Now I don't know about you, but I don't turn on any lights when I get up during the night so I climbed into my bed and as I was lying back, I heard a blood curdling scream.  Yes, I sat/laid on the poor little 2.5 lb kitten!!

The following night, she did not come into my bedroom and I felt so bad.  However, apparently she has forgiven me because every night since, there she is...

just seeing, saying, and sharing...

Who's Squished Now?

with you and those at

Sweet!! Cats do have a way of getting into our spaces, like walking in front of us back and forth, right at our feet. My indoor girl loves to get on my chest and sleep/purr for awhile, either while I am in bed or sitting in my chair. She's a dear to me and I am thankful for her.

Aw, geez, she's beyond adorable. She's got you right where she wants you, and I love it. I'd be there too.

Laughed 'til I cried. Typical cat reaction 'see if I warm your bed tonight' after being rudely sat upon.

She's settling in quite nicely
She hardly sounds feral at all. I used to love having my cat join me in bed. I miss that. My friend has adopted two feral cats. She says they are affectionate, sleep with her and sit on her lap. However, I've hardly ever seen them, and not in the last three or four years. - Margy
Well, they say about cats and dogs that if you want the best spot in the house to sit, to move them - You've proven that to be true in bed too! Seeing her pictures reminds of the place that "tuxedo cats" have in my heart that are all their own. Whatta cutie she is!!
Yep, that's exactly what you have there, JP.... a "feline born outside" and not a feral cat. I'm into cat rescue and oh. my. word. .... a true feral cat is a power source hard to reckon with! What a lucky little lady Katniss is. She's gorgeous!! Blessings to you for rescuing her. Love, Andrea xoxo

How good of you to take in a feral cat … it doesn't always work out as well as yours seems to be! Yes, cats do have a way of taking over a house - and it's MOSTLY adorable...
