Still Together

A long, long time ago it was not a bright sunny day like today.  A long, long time ago it was overcast and misting steadily.  Yes, it was the Fourth of July.  It was the day the Pres and I married.  My sister had come up from Florida, baked the most beautiful cake ever and had decorated all the tables with centerpieces she made.  Our backyard wedding ceremony was performed at my mother and father-in-law's house...the house that where the Pres grew up.

A dear, dear friend from work had thrown us a Jack and Jill shower at her home.  Friends and co-workers "showered us with gifts.  The then President and CEO of "the bank" popped in to wish us well.

My very good friend from work helped me get ready.  She let me borrow something blue...her diamond ice blue tennis bracelet.  She insisted that the new garter be placed on my thigh beneath my short dress and told me that the mist/rain meant "good luck."  My son walked me down the "isle" to the gazebo and gave me away.  My daughter was my maid of honor and my youngest BIL was the Pres' best man.  The justice of the peace was a close friend.

just seeing, saying, and sharing...
