You Lookin' At Me?

The resident turkeys seem to be a lot more active this year around our place.  Sometimes they pick through the yard for grasshoppers while other times they are seen scratching through the leaf litter for ticks (YEAH!!!!)
Did you know that an individual bird can eat 200 or more ticks a day?

And this, my friends, is why when "Looser" and her family are here, I let them spend hours picking, pecking and eating their fill as they walk, stroll and strut.

I have had ticks on me after a walk in the woods...not a fun experience. I did not know they eat ticks! Hooray!! Everyone should have turkeys!! Great photos, and thanks for linking in with us at I'd Rather B Birdin this week

After reading about those tick eating turkeys, no one may want to eat one of those turkeys😉
Trust me, we have a lot of them, Ginny...:)
You know, I never thought of that...LOL!!
I "tick-proof" myself as best as I can...year round, Anni! I spend so much time in the woods and tall grasses and fields!
