The Gift of Freedom

Driving home Monday, when I saw the covered bridge adorned with the American Flag in honor of Veterans Day, I felt compelled to stop.  The fought and died for US.

Located on the outer edge of a Veterans Memorial, it was something that needed to be seen...and remembered.

We sometimes forget that freedom is not really a free thing. It is earned by the sacrifices of many.

That's a lovely photo you shared and its meaning is so deep. Here in New Zealand, every tiny town has a memorial of some kind to those who didn't return from the wars. Quite touching.

Thanks for sharing your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
