Topping Worked

Looking around the yard during the recent snowfall, the "topped trees" seem to appear dwarfed by the surrounding white pines. Although the Pres was hesitant when he made the decision to "top" them rather than have them taken down, it was a wise choice.  They have all filled in beautifully and, of course, will not block the sun for our solar production.  If you're considering topping a tree, I would consult an certified arborist who could suggest which trees are good candidates, as not all are.

beautiful and yes, peope sometimes top the wrong trees...
Oh, topping trees and murdering crepe myrtles are among my pet peeves. You can't just go lopping the tops off of any old tree willy nilly. Glad this one was done correctly and is coming back nicely. Stay warm and be safe.

The photo is beautiful, and this is really good advice.
As much as I dread snow, your photo of it falling is beautiful.
I am glad it worked and it looks lovely. Our county contracts with a firm to top trees that have become dangerous (wires) and they sometimes do a terrible job, just lopping off the tops without regard...criminal! They need to hire an arborist. .... I hope you are safe from the storm and staying warm and cozy in your beautifully decorated home.
