My Early Morning Sunshine

Have you ever had a cat play hockey on your head?  Well, this seems to be Katniss' new thing.  Each morning between 3:00 am and 4:00am, she carries one of her little puff balls into my bedroom and drops it on my face.  Usually I roll over and simply say, "Is that you?" which is about when the game begins.  She bats the puff ball in and around my head, my ears, my nose.  Yes, she is my wake up call.

I try not to indulge our cats at that crazy hour, but there are times where they just want you to be part of their games and their world, and we are willing participants because they are just so darn cute! 🥰

Oh my goodness! So cute! And do you ever get back to sleep, or just give up and arise for the day?

Sounds like a game my two cats would play - which is at least part of the reason that they are restrained a little at night! They have access to indoor space and their outdoor cat run - but they dont have free access to all of the house - and more importantly my head!

They seem to cope!

I had a cat who would sit on the shelf in my headboard right above my head and bat at my head until I got up to feed him.

Adorable, and sweet sweet story
Katniss is obviously wanting an early morning playmate.
What a great way to wake up in the morning--with someone to greet you!
